"It is too early to say that Chloroquine has shown convincing results," El Youbi pointed out in an interview with the Moroccan News Agency (MAP).
El Youbi, who expressed his satisfaction with the rise of the number of recoveries to 10 on Tuesday alone, said the Ministry of Health is analyzing data to establish a link between the beginning of the use of Chloroquine and the associated drugs and the increase in the number of recoveries.
The health official said he does not expect a large use of chloroquine "as its use has been regulated".
"The prescription of this drug requires a specific set of criteria", he explained, underlining in this regard that "all the detected cases are managed at hospital".
Fourty new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) were reported in Morocco over the past 24 hours, until Wednesday at 6 p.m., bringing to 642 the total number of covid-19 cases in the Kingdom.
One new death from coronavirus complications has been reported in the same period, bringing the number of fatalities to 37, while two other people have recovered from the disease which rises to 26 the number of recoveries.
