In a statement, the department urged "all citizens and the national media not to disseminate and propagate rumours because of their negative psychological impact on patients' families", stating that it is the exclusive responsibility of the ministry of Health to take stock of the epidemiological situation related to Covid-19, including the number of deaths among health personnel.
In this regard, the ministry denied rumours that a third doctor had died in Marrakech, and stressed that "so far, there is no third victim among health professionals in the Marrakech-Safi region".
Addressing the cause of death of a female doctor at the Mohammed V Hospital in Casablanca and a retired doctor in Meknes, the department explained that both victims had frequented one of the infected persons and that their contamination did not occur during the performance of their duties.
The health department also stressed that it "shares the feelings of the families of the two deceased following this painful loss", while proudly acknowledging the efforts made by health executives and professionals in the service of humanity to combat the spread of Covid-19.
In addition, the ministry affirmed its commitment to provide all the equipment and means of prevention to the health managers working in the various hospital establishments and to make greater efforts to provide professionals with personal protective equipment against the risk of contamination.
He also called on citizens to comply at all times with containment measures in order to stem the spread of the coronavirus in the Kingdom.
