These interventions involved 40,000 wholesale and retail outlets and storage warehouses, said the Department of General Affairs and Governance under the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform in a statement published at the end of the meeting of the interministerial commission for monitoring supply, prices and price and quality control operations.
Violations include 676 ones for failure to display prices, 174 for non-presentation of invoices, 43 for non-compliance with quality and hygiene standards, 62 for illegal increases in regulated prices, 4 relating to clandestine storage, in addition to 14 miscellaneous offenses, said the same source, adding that regulatory measures have been taken against the offenders.
With regard to the quality of goods and products stored or presented for sale, the joint committees seized and destroyed around 55 tonnes of goods unfit for consumption.
