Snatch thefts fell by 24% while economic and financial crimes dropped by 23%, despite the emergence of new types of criminal acts including fraudsters who are trying to collect donations, speculation on the prices of protective masks and the manufacture of counterfeit disinfectant products, DGSN pointed out.
Crimes related to violence also recorded a sharp decline: -67% for homicides and -175% for attempted homicides, while assaults and battery occasioning death fell by 250%.
According to the same source, robberies at knifepoint declined by 52%, robberies fell by 28%, while sexual assaults dropped by 41%.
