On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the ministry and in consultation with the other departments, ensured the regular supply of markets with food products.
According to the ministry, the market is well supplied with cereals, vegetables and animal products, namely milk, butter and meat.
The prices of vegetables, particularly tomatoes and onions, dropped by 20%-30% compared to Ramadan 2019, it said.
For pulses that have seen an unusual demand lately, the ministry has noted a gradual return to normal, chickpea and bean prices are currently at the same levels as those recorded in the previous ramadan, while lentils prices are down by 20% compared to 2019.
Prices of beef and sheep meat are 6% lower than 2019, while the price of chicken has dropped by 25% compared to Ramadan 2019.
As for dates, the market is well supplied and prices are relatively stable in comparison with previous years, as average prices for the most consumed varieties range between 20 and 35 DH/Kg.
