Tuesday evening, a security operation led to the arrest of 20 sub-Saharan candidates for illegal immigration on the beach of Dakhla and the seizure of an inflatable boat with two engines and several barrels of gas, said the National Police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that the investigations made it possible to apprehend two suspects, aged 32 and 34, directly involved in the organization of illegal immigration through the southern coasts of the Kingdom.
The search operation led to the seizure of 85,540 dirhams and 2,356 euros, in addition to a third amount in CFA francs carried by the accused, added the same source.
The suspects were remanded in police custody for the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to identify the ramifications of this criminal network and arrest all the persons involved in this criminal activity, concluded the DGSN.
