The two individuals, aged 44 and 23, were arrested aboard a car registered in Morocco, in the commune of Matmata near the city of Taza, said the National Police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that search operations resulted in the seizure of one tonne and 58 kg of chira.

The two suspects were remanded in police custody to conduct the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to shed light on all the circumstances of this case, determine the trafficking circuits of the seized drug and identify the ramifications and the potential links of this case to drug trafficking networks, concluded the DGSN.
