Initial investigation showed that the suspect physically attacked a 66-year-old French national with a kitchen knife for no apparent reason while uttering incomprehensible words, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that the attack took place while the victim was walking, early Monday morning, near a caravan parking lot.

According to the same source, the suspect has already been admitted twice into a psychiatric hospital.

The victim, who was stabbed in the hand and neck, was rushed to the hospital to receive the necessary health care, the source said, adding that the doctor noted that her condition was stable and not worrying.

Investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
