The recovery rate continues to increase, reaching on Monday 32.7%, said director of epidemiology and disease control at the Ministry of Health Mohamed El Youbi, in a statement broadcast by MAP on its television channel M24 and on RIM RADIO.
In addition, 150 new cases of Covid-19 infection have been confirmed in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of contamination cases to 5,053, said El Youbi.
In this regard, he noted that among these new cases of infection, 126 were detected through the medical monitoring of contact persons, that is to say a rate of 84%, explaining that 8.821 contacts benefit from the medical follow-up so far.
The number of deaths has increased to 179 after the announcement of five deaths in the last 24 hours, added the official, indicating that the mortality rate (the percentage of deaths caused by the virus among the total of confirmed cases) stabilized at 3.5%.
In the past 24 hours, four regions have recorded the highest number of cases, namely the region of Fez-Meknès, followed by Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, while six others regions have recorded no case: Drâa-Tafilalet, the eastern region, Souss-Massa, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, he said.
The total number of cases excluded after negative laboratory tests has risen to 40,249 since the onset of the epidemic, he said.
