A statement by the national police (DGSN) indicated that the Casablanca police prefecture reacted quickly and seriously to a video shared by users of instant messaging applications showing two individuals posing as elements of the police intercepting a road user and assaulting him after handcuffing him.

Searches and investigations led to the identification and apprehension of two of the suspects, the same source said, adding that a search of the house of one of them resulted in the seizure of a fake police armband, a digital camera, handcuffs, two guns, a plastic walkie-talkie and two motorcycles.

 The two individuals have been placed in police custody to complete the inquiry conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to elucidate all the circumstances of this case, while investigations are under way to arrest all the individuals involved in these criminal acts, the DGSN concluded.
