Coronavirus: 278 Excluded Cases in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, No Infection Since April

Laayoune - Some 278 suspected cases of contamination with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region have been dismissed following negative test results, said Tuesday the regional directorate of Health (DRS).

Out of this total, 142 of these excluded cases are from the city of Laayoune, 74 from Boujdour and 62 from Smara, said the DRS in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation in the region, which had no confirmed cases since early April.

The four cases diagnosed with Covid-19 in Boujdour had left the Moulay El Hassan Ben El Mehdi regional hospital center in Laayoune, where they were admitted, after having successfully completed their treatment.

After the recovery of these four patients, the coronavirus contamination counter has been reset to zero in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region since mid-April.
