Signed by minister of Economy, Finance and Reform of Public Administration, Mohamed Benchaâboun, minister of Health, Khalid Ait Taleb and ambassador of the European Union in Morocco, Claudia Wiedey, this agreement will support the financing of health activities as well as the ambitious reform plan carried by the ministry of Health over the medium term, said a statement by the EU delegation in Morocco.

The agreement will also back future Covid-19 post-crisis solutions, helping to make the health sector more resilient to possible future health crises, according to the same source.

 Praising the very important efforts made in recent weeks by all health workers, Wiedey said that this agreement is part of the EU's emergency support to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

 "I am very delighted to see that this fight is starting to bear fruit, thanks to the involvement of everyone. Our partnership in the health sector, which dates back more than twenty years, will be equal to the challenges," added Wiedey, quoted in the statement.

 The aim of this program is to support three key priorities of the Health Plan 2025, namely improving the quality and safety of care, supporting the human and financial management of the hospital system and backing the implementation of the territorialization of health services, the statement noted, adding that this financing also includes a component of support for women and children who are victims of violence.

 In addition, a complement will be dedicated to the establishment of technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of the national health system in the preparation, management and response to health crises, stressed the same source, adding that these funds will also be earmarked for the acquisition of materials, biomedical equipment, and medical devices needed to respond to these crises.
