"The minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, Mohamed Benchaâboun, announced that companies entitled to operate could resume their activities after Eid Al Fitr. A reassuring decision for the economic fabric and which the CGEM strongly supports," he said in a statement to MAP.
He noted that despite its exorbitant cost for the national economy, estimated at 1 billion dirhams per day, the confinement observed since 20 March has made it possible, thanks to the efforts of all, to save human lives by limiting the spread of the pandemic of the novel coronavirus (covid-19).
Alj also stressed the importance of restarting economic activity as soon as possible, noting that the survival of several thousand companies already in an extremely delicate situation is at stake, as well as the preservation of hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk.
"Companies and shops authorized to operate will only resume if and only if all the measures necessary for the health safety of their employees and customers are scrupulously respected, while promoting teleworking where possible", he stressed, noting in this sense that the CGEM has made available to all economic operators practical guides to support them in the gradual resumption of their activity as well as a solution for the supply and provision of health protection equipment.
