"The interministerial committee, and in the light of the reports of the relevant ministerial departments and the detailed statistics relating to the supply of the market and the situation of current and future production, has recorded the normal and regular supply of markets in all the prefectures and regions of the kingdom in basic products in a very satisfactory manner", the department of General Affairs and Governance under the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform pointed out in a press release issued at the end of this meeting.
The supply meets the demand and the production as well as import operations undertaken are sufficient to meet the demand in the forthcoming months, the source added.
The committee also noted the drop in prices of some basic products as well as the stability of the prices of other products, in comparison with the third week of the holy month of Ramadan, with some exceptions in the prices of some products that increased between 4 and 8%, adding that the prices of live chicken, onions, carrots and potatoes have dropped.
According to the same source, prices remain generally below those recorded during the same period of the month of Ramadan of the previous year.
