The services of the Rabat police prefecture had received a complaint from the mother of a child who has on his mobile phone a two-minute video, filmed abroad and showing pornographic images relating to the sexual exploitation of a minor girl, said the national police (DGSN) in a statement.

 "This necessitated the opening of a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, which led to the arrest in El Jadida of the person who sent the video," added the same source, noting that the second individual, suspected of having asked for the video to be sent to him and of having mistakenly given the number of the minor child, was arrested in Fez.

Also, the central service for fighting crimes related to new technologies had detected this video and other similar content broadcast on social networks, which required them to be submitted to the necessary expertise and criminal investigations in order to identify the people behind the dissemination of this content, the DGSN pointed out.

 The suspects have been remanded in custody as part of the preliminary inquiry conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, the statement added, noting that investigations are under way for the arrest of all persons involved in the publication and sharing of such pornographic content and its sharing with under-age children.
