"The presidents of the Councils of local authorities and their bodies may, in coordination with the walis of the regions and the governors of prefectures and provinces, each in his territorial field of action, decide to hold in person the ordinary and extraordinary sessions of these Councils, while taking all the preventive measures enacted by the competent authorities, in coordination with the local administrative authority, so that these meetings take place in the best conditions", noted the statement.
This decision is part of the strengthening of the precautionary measures taken to combat the spread of the new coronavirus and in view of the current situation and in correlation with the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the various regions, prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom, but also in accordance with the requirements of article 2 of decree No. 2. 20.406 of 9 June 2020 extending the state of health emergency throughout the national territory to stem the spread of Covid-19 and promulgating special provisions for the easing of related restrictions, added the statement.
In addition, local authorities and arrondissements are invited to take all preventive measures through the sterilization of premises, work offices and sanitary dependencies and their ventilation.
The gradual resumption of work requires a reduction in the circulation and exchange of paper documents and the use of available technological means as far as possible, all in strict compliance with the preventive measures laid down by the competent authorities, the statement concluded.
