This announcement came during El Ferdaous' presentation before the social sectors Committee at the House of Representatives, which was devoted to discussing the situation of the ministry of Youth and Sports in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the department's preventive measures, its post-confinement action plan and the impact of this stoppage on team sports, clubs and sporting events.

The suspension of sporting events has a negative effect on sports activities, particularly collective ones, the minister said, noting that this decision was not a choice but an obligation to prevent and contain the pandemic, thus preserving the health and safety of all citizens.

In order to deal with these negative effects on the sports sector, the minister stressed the importance of developing an approach in partnership with the sports federations empowered by law to organize these competitions and sports events, with the aim of finding the most effective means to overcome this exceptional circumstance.
