The 21-year-old player, who has been on loan from Real Madrid for the last two seasons, is close to join Inter in a deal worth around €40 million, according to several media reports.
While Dortmund are eager to keep Hakimi at the club, they simply can't match the fee that Inter are willing to pay for the defender.
"We were hoping to be able to keep Achraf, but Real Madrid want to cash in as much as possible," Zorc told reporters.
"There has been a new development in the last few days. The sum in question will be higher,” he added.
"At some point, we realized that we didn't want to and couldn't go along with it."
