The suspect was arrested during this operation, conducted in coordination with the royal gendarmerie, on board a 4X4 vehicle in the Oued Tizimi rural area, some 70 km from Guelmim, said a statement by the national police (DGSN), stating that the search operations conducted in a vacant lot resulted in the seizure of 34 packages containing a total of 860 kg of chira.

The suspect was placed in police custody to complete the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to determine the ins and outs of this case, to identify his possible links with international drug trafficking networks, and to arrest other accomplices involved in these criminal acts.

This case is part of the joint security operations conducted by DGSN and DGST to combat all forms of cross-border crime, including international trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances, the statement concluded.
