Three of these suspects were arrested in Marrakech aboard three rental cars, just after providing a bag containing five kilograms of cocaine to the fourth suspect who managed to escape after having abandoned the drug, National Police (DGSN) said Sunday in a statement.

The man was arrested latter in his car when he arrived in the Tamesna region (near Rabat), in possession of one kilogram of cocaine, the source added.

Elements of the judicial police of Tangier also seized another car and a sum of 100.000 Dirhams, National Police said, adding that policemen seized a total of five cars, six kilograms of cocaine, a sum of money and several mobile telephones.

The suspects were placed on custody, while investigations are underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to arrest all the people involved in these criminal activities, the source said.
