This document was signed electronically between director general of AMSSNuR, Khammar Mrabit, and director general of ARSN, Marie-Chantal kouassi Goffri, on 19 June and 17 July 2020 respectively, in view of the current health circumstances related to the Covid-19 outbreak, said a statement by the Agency on Wednesday, stressing that this virtual signing will be corroborated by an official signing at a ceremony bringing together the two regulatory authorities.
Under the Memorandum, both parties undertake to exchange technical information and respective experiences in the regulation of nuclear and radiological safety and security, the management of radioactive waste and spent fuel, the preparation and conduct of radiological emergency response, and capacity building in nuclear and radiological safety and security.
It also covers support in the implementation of integrated nuclear security plans, the conduct of an environmental study of radiological installations, and the preparation and conduct of nuclear security measures during major public events.
