This new figure brings to 37,935 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 26,687 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 70%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 584, with 28 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, he added, specifying that the deaths were recorded in Casablanca (08), Marrakech (05), Fez (03), Tangier (03), Errachidia (02), Ouarzazate (02), and one in Rabat, one in Sale, one in Nador, one in El Hoceima, and one in Boujdour.
The cumulative incidence rate is 104.5/100,000 inhabitants, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, out of 100,000 inhabitants, four people have been infected.
On the geographical distribution, Mrabet said that 393 new cases of contamination were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat (331 in Casablanca, 38 in Settat, 05 in Mohammédia, 04 in Midiouna, 02 in Benslimane, 07 in Naoucer, 04 cases in El Jadida, one case in Berrechid and one case in Sidi Bennour), 173 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (36 in Sale, 47 in Témara, 27 in Kénitra, 40 in Rabat, 06 in Sidi Kacem and 17 cases in Khémisset), 173 Fez-Meknes (64 in Fez, 43 in Meknes, 15 in Sefrou, 04 in Ifrane, 03 in Moulay Yaâcoub, 20 in Taza, 14 in Taounate and 10 cases in El Hajeb), 150 in Marrakech-Safi (130 in Marrakech, 08 in Essaouira, 6 Rehamna, 05 in Kelâa De Sraghna and one case in Al Haouz), 146 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (96 in Tangier, 43 in Tétouan, 05 in M'diq Fnideq, one case in Larache and one case in Fahs Anjra), 75 in Daraâ-Tafilalet (11 in Ouarzazate, 45 in Errachidia, 09 in Midelt and one case in Tinguir), 54 in Béni-Mellal-Khénifra (13 in Béni Mellal, 09 in Fqih Ben Saleh, 02 in Khénifra, 16 in Khouribga and 14 cases in Azilal), 32 in the eastern region (10 in Oujda, 09 in Guercif, 04 in Nador, 04 in Figuig, 03 in Berkane, one in Driouch and one case in Jerada), 25 in Souss-Mass (08 in Inzgane, 16 in Agadir and one case in Tiznit), 07 in Dakhla Oued Eddahab, all identified in the city of Dakhla, 05 in Laâyoune Sakia El Hamra (03 in Laâyoune and 02 in Boujdour) and 06 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (03 in Guelmim and 02 cases in Assa-Zag).
The number of cases excluded after negative test results amounts to 20,877, for a total of 1,500,585, he said, adding that 988 new cases were detected as part of the contact tracking system (80%).
Regarding active cases, Mrabet noted that their number stands at 10,664 people, i.e. a rate of 29.4/100,000 inhabitants, saying that most of these cases are recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Marrakech-Safi, Fez-Meknes and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.
Regarding people in critical condition, he reported 156 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 85 intubated people. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (44, including 33 intubated people), Marrakech-Safi (38 including 25 intubated people), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (31, including 07 intubated cases), Fez-Meknes (14 including 08 intubated persons), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (15 cases including 05 intubated patients), Souss-Massa (05, including 03 intubated people), Daraâ Tafilalet (05 cases including 04 intubated people), the eastern region (03) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (01).
