This new figure brings to 42.489 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 29.344 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 69%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 658, with 26 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (5 in Casablanca, 9 in Marrakech and 4 Tangier, 2 in Fez and Ouarzazate and 1 case in Sefrou, Meknès, Témara and Khénifra).
The cumulative incidence rate is 117 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 12,487, that is a rate of 34/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,907, for a total of 1,563,124, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new confirmed cases, Mrabet noted that 303 cases were recorded in Marrakech-Safi (209 in Marrakech, 40 in Rhamna, 28 in Al Haouz, 12 in Safi, 9 in Chichaoua, 3 in Youssoufia and 2 in Kelâa), 225 in Fez-Meknès (63 in Fez, 39 in Meknes, 34 in Taza, 32 in Sefrou, 24 in Boulmane, 18 in Taounate, 7 in Ifrane, 6 in Moulay Yaaâcoub and 2 in El Hajeb) and 224 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra (150 in Béni-Mellal, 31 in Fquih Ben Saleh, 27 in Khénifra, 14 in Khouribga and 2 in Azilal).
The other regions that have recorded new cases are Casablanca-Settat (221), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (150), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (145), Draâ-Tafilalet (112), the eastern region (31), Souss-Massa (28), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (22), Guelmim-Oued Noun (8) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3), he said.
Regarding people in a critical state of health, he reported 161 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 65 people under artificial respiration. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (47), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (37), Marrakech-Safi (30), Fez-Meknès (18), Drâa-Tafilalt (10), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9), Souss-Massa (5), the eastern region (4) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
