This new figure brings to 43,558 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 29,941 that of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 69%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 681, with 23 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (07 in Marrakech, 03 in Casablanca, 03 in Tangier-Assilah, 02 in Errachidia and Fez and 01 case in Agadir Ida-Outanane, Meknes, Nador, Oujda-Angad, Tan Tan and Salé).
The cumulative incidence rate is 120 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 12,936, that is a rate of 36/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,128, for a total of 1,583,252, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new confirmed cases, Mrabet noted that 263 cases have been recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region (218 in Casablanca, 14 in Nouaceur, 11 in Settat, 08 in El Jadida, 07 in Mohammedia, 03 in Mediouna and 02 in Berrchid), 214 in Fez-Meknès (79 in Fez, 45 in Taza, 35 in Meknès, 19 in El Hajeb, 18 in Sefrou, 14 in Taounate, 03 in Ifrane and only one case in Moulay Yaacoub), 189 in the Marrakech-Safi region (99 in Marrakech, 67 in Youssoufia, 08 in Al Haouz, 07 in El Kelaâ des Sraghna, 04 in Rhamna and 02 cases in Chichaoua and Essaouira), 120 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra (47 in Béni-Mellal, 31 in Fquih Ben Saleh, 23 in Azilal, 15 in Khouribga and 04 in Khénifra) and 94 cases in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (34 in Tétouan, 25 in Tangier and Assilah, 15 in Ouezzane, 14 in Larache 04 in M'diq-Fnideq and 02 in Al Hoceima).
The other regions that have recorded new cases are Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (82), Draâ-Tafilalet (34), Souss-Massa (24), the eastern region (22), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (16), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (06) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (05), he said.
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 189 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 50 people on artificial respiration. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (56), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (46), Marrakech-Safi (36), Fez-Meknès (17), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (12), Drâa-Tafilalt (09), the eastern region (06), Souss-Massa (04), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (02) and Béni Mellal-Khénifra (01).
