In a statement, the ministry said that in-person education will be provided for students whose parents choose this model, knowing that a mechanism will be established to allow families to make such a choice.
This decision, he explained, is based on the worrying epidemiological situation currently in the country, marked by a significant increase in cases of contamination and the number of critical cases and deaths.
In order to preserve the health and safety of students, as well as educational and administrative staff, the ministry will ensure that the appropriate conditions are met in preparation for the start of the school year, by establishing a strict health protocol taking into account the preventive measures taken by the health authorities.
These measures include the compulsory wearing of masks from the fifth grade, the regular hand washing, the respect for social distancing by reducing the number of students in classrooms, and the disinfection of the various school facilities, added the press release.
It further noted that as part of the proactive measures aimed at combating the spread of the Covid19 pandemic, an integrated plan 2020 was drawn up according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, stressing that the educational model could, at any time of the next school year, be adapted at the local, provincial or regional level in the light of the evolution of this situation, and this in coordination with local and health authorities.
According to the same source, the department in charge affirms that it will make sure in the coming days to inform the school staff, the students and their parents as well as all the citizens of the various actions related to the management of the school year 2020-2021 amid the exceptional context marked by the pandemic.
Regarding the unified regional examination for the first year of the baccalaureate, initially scheduled for September 4 and 5, the ministry said it was postponed to a later date.
In this context, the Ministry of National Education invited educational and administrative staff, families, social partners and all stakeholders in society to get involved effectively in order to implement the measures that will be adopted, with the objective of guaranteeing the right of all students to education.
