This position was expressed in a joint statement following a phone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, and his Surinamese counterpart Albert Ramdin, at the latter's request.
On this occasion, Bourita congratulated Ramdin on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and International Cooperation of the Republic of Suriname, wishing him great success in this mission.
The two parties expressed their deep satisfaction with bilateral relations, welcoming the fruitful cooperation which has led to the implementation of concrete joint projects.
Bourita and Ramdin expressed their strong will to strengthen, enrich and further diversify bilateral cooperation, stressing their commitment to supporting issues of common interest such as peace, stability and human development, said the press release.
The two sides also discussed the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and how the two countries are striving to curb it.
In this context, Bourita affirmed that Morocco is ready to provide emergency assistance to Suriname in order to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The minister also invited his Surinamese counterpart to pay an official visit to Morocco, before the end of the year, in order to sign a new roadmap and identify new opportunities for continued collaboration, the statement concluded.
