This new figure brings to 58,489 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 43,049 that of people who fully recovered, said coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 1,052 with 41 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (Marrakech 11, Casablanca 7, Tangier 5, Fez 4, Oujda 3, Agadir, Zagora, Ouarzazate 2 each and one case in Errachidia, El Kelâa, Taza, Sefrou, Tetouan) he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 161 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he noted, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 14,388 (39.6/100,000 inhabitants).
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,881, for a total of 1,810,056, he added.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new cases, Mrabet noted that 534 cases were detected in the Casablanca-Settat region (428 in Casablanca, 32 in Nouaceur, 24 in El Jadida, 14 in Médiouna, 13 in Berrechid, 10 in Mohammedia, 9 in Settat, 3 in Benslimane and 1 in Sidi Bennour), 271 in the Marrakech-Safi region (219 in Marrakech, 22 cases in Chichaoua, 11 in Essaouira and 11 Rehamna, 5 in El Youssoufia and 3 in Safi), 159 in Fez-Meknès (79 in Fez, 37 in Meknes, 16 in Taza, 11 in Boulemane, 11 in Sefrou, 3 in Taounate and 2 in My-Yaâkoub) and 116 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (32 in Salé, 31 in Rabat, 26 in Skhirate-Témara, 18 in Kénitra, 5 in Sidi Kacem and 4 in Khemisset).
In addition, 95 cases were recorded in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region (32 in Khouribga, 30 in Azilal, 18 in Béni-Mellal, 9 in Fkih Ben Saleh and 6 Khénifra), 82 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (34 in Tangier, 28 in Tétouan, 11 in M'diq-Fnideq, 8 in Al Hoceima and 1 case in Chefchaoun), 42 in Draâ-Tafilalet (21 in Errachidia, 10 in Ouarzazate, 8 in Zagora and 3 in Tinghir) and 34 in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (all in the province of Oued Eddahab).
The Souss-Massa region recorded 32 cases (13 in Agadir, 8 in Inezgane, 6 in Chtouka, 2 Tata, 2 in Tiznit and 1 in Taroudant), while 22 cases were identified in the eastern region (7 in Oujda-Angad, 5 in Guercif, 4 in Nador, 3 in Taourirt, 2 in Berkane, and 1 in Driouach), 13 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (8 in Tan-Tan, 3 in Sidi-Ifni and 2 in Guelmim) and 4 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3 Laâyoune and 1 in Tarfaya).
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 193 cases admitted to intensive care units, of which 44 people are intubated.
