The governor of the province Lahoucine Chaynane issued a decision prohibiting all the festivities organized during Ashura 1442 Hegira at the level of the province, in particular the campfires (chouala), the firecrackers, the visits to the cemeteries and the gatherings in neighborhoods.

According to this decision, offenders will be liable to the penalties provided for as part of the exceptional measures aimed at limiting the spread of the new coronavirus.

This decision entered into force as of Thursday, said the same source, recalling that the application of these provisions has been entrusted to the competent local and security authorities.
