This new figure brings to 62,590, the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 47,595 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 76%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 1,141 with 30 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (7 in Marrakech, 5 in Casablanca and Fez, 2 in Ouarzazate and Tangier-Assilah, and one death in Rabat, Settat, Khénifra, Safi, Tétouan, Zagora, Errachidia, El Kelâa des Sraghna and Midelt), he added, noting that the case fatality rate is 1.8%.
The cumulative incidence rate is 172/100,000 inhabitants, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, out of 100,000 inhabitants, 3 people have been infected.
Regarding active cases, Mrabet noted that 13,854 people are currently under treatment.
On the geographical distribution, the official said that 377 cases were identified in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 135 in Marrakech-Safi, 133 in Fez-Meknès, 116 in Draâ-Tafilalet, 109 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 97 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, 89 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 72 in Dakhla-Oued Dahab, 47 in Souss-Massa and 16 in the eastern region.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results amounts to 20,178, for a total of 1,871,744, he noted.
Regarding people in critical condition, Mrabet reported 202 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 48 intubated people.
