During his participation on Thursday in the virtual international ministerial meeting for "Sustainable and resilient recovery in the context of Covid-19", co-organized by the Japanese government and the executive secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Rabbah reaffirmed that Morocco is committed, as part of the consolidation of the spirit of regional and international solidarity, to provide support to international, regional and African initiatives for sustainable development, conservation and promotion of biodiversity, access to energy, social development and sustainable agriculture.
Quoted in a statement from the ministry, Rabbah said that "the process of the recovery plan must be undertaken at 3 levels: regional, national and international, while ensuring their interconnection based on a new system of cooperation and international partnership".
He also highlighted the need to maintain the current dynamism to support the management of the immediate impact of the dual climate crisis and health crisis, and which will help to build a resilient system able to fight against future shocks.
This meeting was attended by António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, Abe Shinzo, Prime Minister of Japan and Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as around thirty ministers and representatives of non-state international stakeholders.
