During her meeting on Friday with the speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, Le Gal highlighted the "strong" human ties uniting the two countries reflected, for example, by repatriation operations of several people stranded because of the Covid-19 pandemic, said a press release from the House of Representatives.
The exceptional situation resulting from this pandemic creates new opportunities for the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in particular, and between Morocco and the European Union in general, and this because of the assets enjoyed by the Kingdom and given its vital geostrategic location. "Our relations with Morocco will experience a significant boost in the next stage," she said.
Welcoming Morocco's efforts to maintain security and stability in Libya and Mali, the French official stressed the importance of consolidating parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions of the two countries.
For his part, El Malki noted that the diplomacy of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, aims to restore peace and stability in North Africa and in the Sahel region and is keen to make dialogue prevail to resolve disputes.
Lauding the level of consultation and cooperation between the House of Representatives and the French National Assembly, El Malki welcomed the results of the project of "institutional twinning between the two institutions" which allowed the sharing of experiences and expertise in important areas relating to parliamentary action.
