This brings to 90,324 the number of contaminations since the first case was reported in the Kingdom on March 2, and to 71,047 the number of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 78.7%, the ministry said in its daily report.
The number of fatalities rises to 1,648, with 34 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, i.e. a case-fatality rate of 1.8%, according to the same source.
The deaths occurred in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (09), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (05), Fez-Meknes (05), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (04), Marrakech-Safi (04), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (02), the Eastern region (01), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (01), , Souss-Massa (01), Daraa-Tafilalet (01) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (01).
The new cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (924, including 703 in Casablanca), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (245), Marrakech-Safi (163), Sous-Massa (150), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (143), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (122), Daraa-Tafilalet (108), the Eastren region (79), Fez-Meknes (68), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (49), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (44) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (26).
The number of excluded cases amounts to 2,183,718 after 20,158 new negative tests.
Active cases reach 17,629, with a prevalence of about 48.5/100,000 inhabitants. Regarding severe or critical cases, there are 263, 58 of which are under intubation.
The cumulative incidence rate stands at 248.7/100,000 inhabitants, compared to a 24-hour incidence rate of 5.8/100,000 inhabitants.
