The two suspects, aged 35 and 52, were arrested in their car at a check point at the entrance of Casablanca, said the National Police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the search operation resulted in the seizure of 4,200 pills of drug of the "Rivotril" type as well as six cell phones and sums of money suspected of resulting from this criminal activity.
Security data revealed that the suspects were wanted by national search warrants in Tangier and Agadir for their alleged involvement in cases of international trafficking of stolen cars, forgery and falsification of records and of drug and psychotropic pills trafficking.
The suspects were remanded in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office in order to identify potential ramifications of this criminal activity, the statement concluded.
