As part of the permanent follow-up of the epidemiological situation at the level of the prefecture of Tangiers-Assilah, and particularly in the districts affected by the closing decision of public and private schools, it was decided to reopen these establishments as of Wednesday and to provide in-person learning, the Provincial Directorate of National Education said in a press release.
Alternate in-person learning will be adopted in the schools where distance learning was implemented since the beginning of the school year in accordance to the ministerial note 39/20, the same source added, stressing that this measure guarantees the right to a quality education and equal opportunities for all learners.
The schools' reopening decision does not concern the Ibn al Khatib High School of Tangiers, where distance learning will be implemented for two weeks, starting Monday, after several Covid-19 cases were reported among the staff.
Tangiers' French high school Eugène Regnault, which was closed on Monday for two weeks for the same reasons, will provide distance learning, the press release concluded.
