The control operations, carried out from September 12-25 by the national police services, in coordination with the Administration of customs and indirect taxes and the office for health security of food products (ONSSA), concerned 15 restaurants, according to a DGSN press release.
The infractions recorded were related to the unjustified absence of the manager (04), non-compliance with the type of authorization, change or core activity (05), non-compliance with the necessary authorizations for hiring employees, non-display of the legal framework of the activity of this category of restaurants and unauthorized change of the brand name (03).
These operations also resulted in the seizure and destruction of 58 bottles of beer, 07 bottles of expired soft drinks, as well as of amounts of expired food products that were unfit for consumption and stored in inadequate conditions, the DGSN added.
The local authorities decided to close three restaurants until their situation is regularized, the police said, stressing that the managers of these establishments were subjected to preliminary investigations under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to determine the extent of their involvement in these infractions and criminal acts, it concluded.
