In a press release, the National Police (DGSN) said that search operations carried out by the Gendarmerie Royale services in an area located in the rural commune of Asrir (15 km from Guelmim) resulted in the seizure of a drug shipment consisting of 57 packets of cannabis resin, a shotgun, an all-terrain vehicle, a motorcycle, a large stab weapon and of two cell phones.
The seized drugs were buried in a desert area near an uninhabited tent, the police added, stressing that field investigations are continuing to arrest accomplices linked to the criminal network involved in this case.
This operation is part of the intense efforts jointly carried out by DGSN and DGST services to combat all criminal activities, including international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, the press release concluded.
