In a statement, the government announced that these measures involve the prohibition of all forms of night movements between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. except for health and occupational reasons, the obligation to have an exceptional authorization for travel to and from the above-mentioned prefectures and provinces issued by the competent local authorities and the closing of community grounds and parks.
These measures also include the closing at 8 p.m. of restaurants, cafés, stores and large shopping centers, the shutdown of public transport buses and tramways at 9 p.m., the closing at 3 p.m. of local markets and the promotion of teleworking when possible, the statement added.
All the preventive measures taken previously will remain in force, including the closing of Hammams and sports halls and a ban on gatherings of over 10 people, concludes the same source.
These measures come in response to the findings of daily monitoring and regular evaluation operations carried out by the watch and monitoring committees of the prefecture of Casablanca. They also take into account the recommendations of the Scientific and Technical Commission on the need to continue the implementation of necessary measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 as well as the government's statement dated October 19 on the extension of precautionary measures previously decided in the prefecture of Casablanca.
