According to a statement from the ministry, the management of the Duc De Tovar hospital in Tangier categorically denies reports published by these electronic websites on the death of COVID-19 patients due to lack of oxygen.
Contrary to the information reported, a second oxygen tank with a larger capacity was installed at the hospital, in order to strengthen the infrastructure and supply all hospital services with this vital matter, and this in anticipation of any emergency, the ministry points out, adding that the installation of the said tank took place in the presence of the handling company and the biomedical staff of the Regional Hospital Center, in full compliance with safety measures.
Regarding the recorded deaths (3), the statement says they are due to complications from the coronavirus and are unrelated to any lack of oxygen.
The management of the Duc De Tovar hospital "strongly denounces these allegations which risk sowing fear, panic and mistrust among patients and their relatives, and could thwart the efforts made by the medical, nursing and technical staff, particularly in these difficult circumstances in the fight against the pandemic, the source adds.
