The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 225,070 while the number of cured people increases to 187,101, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 83.1%.
A total of 64 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 3,826, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These deaths are distributed between the eastern region (14), Casablanca-Settat (10), Souss-Massa (9), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (8), Marrakech-Safi (8), Fez-Meknes (4), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (4), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (3), Draâ-Tafilalet (3) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (1).
The new cases of contamination were detected in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (864), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (675), the eastern region (262), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (174), Souss-Massa (172), Marrakech-Safi (125), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (98), Fez-Meknès (64), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (56), Draâ-Tafilalet (31), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2).
The number of excluded cases stands at 3,142,601, after 17,273 new negative tests.
The active cases reached a total of 34,143, while the severe or critical cases are 842, of which 66 are intubated. The occupancy rate of the intensive care beds dedicated to Covid-19 is 36.5%.
The cumulative incidence rate is 619.8/100,000 inhabitants, against a 24-hour incidence established at 7/100,000 inhabitants.
