The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 229,565 while the number of cured people increases to 189,909, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 82.7%.
A total of 74 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 3,900, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (22), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (10), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (8), Marrakech-Safi (8), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (6), the Oriental (6), Fez-Meknes (5), Souss-Massa (4), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3) and Draâ-Tafilalet (2).
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,109), the Oriental (663), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (658), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (269), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (167), Souss-Massa (161), Marrakech-Safi (157), Fez-Meknès (69), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (69), Draâ-Tafilalet (67), Guelmim-Oued Noun (58) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (48).
The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,158,977 since the start of the outbreak, including 16,376 in the past day.
The number of active cases has reached 35,756, including 869 patients in a critical or severe condition.
The cumulative incidence rate is 632.2/100,000 inhabitants, against a 24-hour incidence established at 12.4/100,000 inhabitants.
