It is an intervention that will have a beneficial impact on the population and commercial traffic as well as on the relations between the Kingdom and its African depth, El Otmani pointed out at a virtual meeting of the PJD.

The Royal Armed Forces have set up a security cordon to secure free movement on the road between Morocco and Mauritania in order to prevent the infiltration of separatist militias, he said, noting that the Polisario has been violating the ceasefire agreement in the buffer zone.

Polisario militias' actions in this area take place following the successive failures of the separatist thesis at the internal and external levels, thus becoming desperate roadblockers, he went on.

Morocco has shown a high sense of patience and has not failed to draw the attention of the UN Secretary General and members of the Security Council to the situation in the region. However, he said, the separatist militias have crossed all limits, a situation in which the Kingdom had no choice but to intervene.

The PJD welcomes the firm and determined position of HM King Mohammed VI on this issue, said El Otmani, who stressed the importance of the mobilization of all political and civil forces for the defense of national sovereignty.
