The new figure brings to 316,260 the total number of contaminations, since the first case reported on March 2, and to 262,212 that of people who fully recovered, a recovery rate of 82.9%, said the ministry in its daily report on the Covid-19 situation.
The number of deaths rose to 5,182, with 92 new cases recorded in 24 hours, a case fatality rate of 1.6%.
These deaths are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (33), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (13), the eastern region (12), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (8), Marrakech-Safi (8), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (7), Fez-Meknes (6), Souss-Massa (2), Darâa-Tafilalet (2) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).
The new cases were detected in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,738), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (876), Souss-Massa (432), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (418), the eastern region (371), Marrakech-Safi (329), Guelmim-Oued Noun (151), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (125), Draâ-Tafilalet (85), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (74), Fez-Meknès (68) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahad (39).
The number of excluded cases stands at 3,437,464, after 15,484 new negative tests, while the active cases reached the number of 48,866.
Concerning severe or critical cases, there are 1,047, including 102 placed under intubation. The occupancy rate of the Covid-19 intensive care beds is 38%.
