In a statement to the press on this occasion, Mohamed Raied, member of the Libyan Lower house, expressed his deep thanks to Morocco, King, government and people, for hosting the meeting.
Such a decision "reflects Morocco's determination to support the Libyan people to overcome its crisis," he said, stressing that 110 to 120 MPs are expected to attend the meeting, while the quorum required is 95.
This is the first meeting in several years of the Libyan House of Representatives, which is considered the only legitimate body since its election in 2014.
The meeting will be an opportunity to set the agenda for another official session of the Libyan House of Representatives to be held in Libya, Raied added.
Like wise, Ayman Saif Al-Nasr reiterated his thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Kingdom of Morocco for the efforts made to resolve the Libyan crisis.
This consultative meeting aims to prepare to meet the next deadlines, the MP said.
As for Halima Essadek, also a member of the Libyan lower House, she explained that the main purpose of this consultative meeting is "to unify the House of Representatives" and come up with "a unified vision" to bring Libya out of this crisis.
"We hope that we will come out of the consultative meeting in Tangier with a positive outcome," she said.
The sessions of the Libyan Dialogue held on November 4-5 in Bouznika, between the representatives of the electoral constituencies of the House of Representatives and the Libyan High Council of State, have triggered a positive dynamic and gave rise to great optimism among the Libyans and the international community to achieve a solution to the crisis in this country.
