This winter season, about 913 pieces of equipment, including snowplows, will be deployed and several social and medical interventions will be conducted by ministerial departments, said the minister who chaired the annual coordination meeting for the 2020-2021 winter and de-icing campaigns.
This meeting is an important step in the preparation of the ministry's road maintenance plan, whose objective is to maintain traffic on the road in good conditions," Amara added.
During this meeting, held as part of the ministry's proactive policy to cope with severe climate conditions, an overall assessment of the past campaigns was made to highlight the strengths and areas for improvement in the exercise of road sustainability. It was also an occasion to highlight and review the action plan of the 2020-2021 campaign.
This plan includes seven components such as winter season duty roster, internal and external communication means in addition to preparing and managing intervention equipment and snow removal brigades' manpower.
