The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 353,803 while the number of cured people increases to 302,314 the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 85.4%.

A total of 50 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 5,789, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.6%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), the Oriental (6), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (6), Fez-Meknes (5), Marrakech-Safi (4), Guelmim-Oued Noun (4), Souss-Massa (3),Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1), Daraa-Tafilalet (1), and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,601), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (704), Souss-Massa (544), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (375), Marrakech-Safi (256), the Oriental (152), Guelmim-Oued Noun (140), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (136), Fez-Meknes (83), Draa-Tafilalet (78), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (23) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (23).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,585,547 since the start of the outbreak, including 15,065 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 45,700, including 1,041 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
