The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 359,844 while the number of cured people increases to 310,193 the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 86.2%.

A total of 69 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 5,915, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.6%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (13), the Oriental (7), Souss-Massa (11), Marrakech-Safi (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (7), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (7), Fez-Meknes (5), Laayoune Sakia Lhamra (5), Guelmim-Oued Noun (4), Draa-Tafilalet (3) and Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,287), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (606), Souss-Massa (413), the Oriental (179), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (355), Marrakech-Safi (258), Guelmim-Oued Noun (93), Laayoune Sakia Lhamra (78), Fez-Meknes (77), Draa-Tafilalet (71), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (64) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (27).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,614,941 since the start of the outbreak, including 17,377 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 43,736, including 1,036 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
