Covid-19: Morocco Records 4,346 New Cases, 4,044 Recoveries over Past 24 Hours

Rabat - Morocco has recorded 4,346 new cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) over the past 24 hours while 4,044 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same period, the ministry of health said Wednesday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 364,190 while the number of cured people increases to 314,237 the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 86.3%.

A total of 70 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 5,985, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.6%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (11), Souss-Massa (11), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (10), Fez-Meknes (9), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (8), the Oriental (7), Marrakech-Safi (5), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (4), Draa-Tafilalet (2), Laayoune Sakia Lhamra (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,314), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (942), Souss-Massa (583), Marrakech-Safi (420), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (401), Laayoune Sakia Lhamra (178), the Oriental (124), Guelmim-Oued Noun (116), Fez-Meknes (84), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (76), Draa-Tafilalet (73) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (35).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,631,695 since the start of the outbreak, including 16,753 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 43,968, including 331 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
