MoU Signed in Rabat to Accompany Process of Advanced Regionalization in Morocco

Rabat - A Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing a framework for partnership and multilateral exchange between the General Directorate of Local Authorities (DGCL), the Association of Moroccan Regions (ARM) and the UK Embassy in Morocco was signed Wednesday in Rabat with a view to supporting the advanced regionalization process.

The MoU was signed by Wali director general of local authorities at the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior, Khalid Safir, British Ambassador to Morocco Simon Martin and President of the ARM Mohand Laenser, in the presence of officials representing the three institutions, according to a joint release of the signatory parties.

The document is part of the implementation of the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan of the DGCL: "Encouraging citizen participation, " it added.

This project provides for capitalizing on and generalizing tools for cooperation, communication and citizen participation at the level of the 12 Regions of Morocco, the same source added.

The MoU provides for collecting successful experiences and working tools developed by the parties and by the councils of the regions, particularly in terms of cooperation, communication and citizen participation.
