The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country rises to 417,125, while the number of cured people increases to 378,154, the ministry pointed out in its daily update, adding that the recovery rate has reached 90.7%.

A total of 48 coronavirus-related deaths were registered in the past day, taking the death toll to 6,957, the source pointed out, adding that the fatality rate stands at 1.7%.

These fatalities were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (13), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (10), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (7), Marrakech-Safi (5), Fez-Meknes (4), the Oriental (3), Guelmim Oued-Noun (3), Souss-Massa (1), Beni-Mellal-Khenifra (1) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).

The new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (641), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (309), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (260), Marrakech-Safi (190), Souss-Massa (164), Draa-Tafilalet (73), Fez-Meknes (70), the Oriental (69), Laayoune-Sakia Lhamra (41), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (40), Guelmim-Oued Noun (33) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (9).

The total number of excluded cases following negative tests rises to 3,883,871 since the start of the outbreak, including 11,457 in the past day.

The number of active cases has reached 32,104, including 1,071 patients in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
