"The proclamation signed by US President Donald Trump is a major historic turning point in relations between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Morocco (...) and a victory for the political settlement advocated by the Kingdom" for the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, AMCN said in a statement received by MAP on Monday.

The US decision is also "an explicit recognition of the seriousness and credibility of the autonomy proposal under Moroccan sovereignty presented by Morocco as a democratic, peaceful and sustainable solution" to end this artificial dispute permanently.

The American Moroccan Competencies Network commended the far-sighted leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Sovereign's decisive actions to defend and preserve the Kingdom's territorial integrity and ensure its security and stability.

AMCN also welcomed the significant efforts made by Moroccan diplomacy to fulfill the vision of His Majesty the King and defend the higher interests of the Kingdom.
